for a greek who is not used to such a festival the soundsystem was out of this world, the organization excellent and the prices of beers and drinks were at least fair. a more detailed opinion about sonar you can find at haunted dancehall blog or in his show this friday on poplie.

I fully support Justin McNulty’s right to stay in the United States and urge your positive and swift action in this matter. His deportation would be a devastating loss to Los Angeles and the American arts.

back to athens

after almost a week away of the grey capital of greece i’m back, and not so happy to be honest. i was in a village at the east side of greece next to turkey, on the samos island. marathokambos is on the southeastern side of samos, built on the foot of mountain fterias, 400 meters above the sea-level. the amphitheatrically-built settlement gives a beautiful panoramic view of the sea. when the weather is fine you can see patmos, agathonisi and samiopoula. marathokampos is a small village with a population near to two thousand citizens but nevertheless very hospitable and with a unique tradition, on the slopes surrounding the village they explode real fire to welcome the resurrection of Christ. the weather was great, the food was also great and we were almost all the time not drunk to be presized but with a changed attitude. we were going for sleep around 5 am and at 1 pm with all the alcohol fumes inside our head and two sips of coffee we started the day with 2 or 3 bottles of the famous samian wine and delicious home-cooked food. walks on the beach, relaxing in the warm embrace of the sun and a unique 4wd ride on the mountain of kerkis, through a dense forest. this particular forest has been burnt down several times, but still in a strange way it has managed to rise from the ashes of the old pines. nature is strange..
